THE STORY

Carroll Projects isn’t just another contracting company—we’re the embodiment of what a true, family-rooted business should be. The story starts with my brother and I as kids, squeezed together in a single seat of my father’s plumbing van, traveling to job sites across Greater Boston after school. But the roots of this story stretch back 60 years, beginning in a different country, where the decision to come to the United States to work laid the foundation for everything we are today.

One memory that stands out in particular is of my grandfather, “Papa,” who would often say in his thick Irish brogue, “I don’t like to paint, Jimmy,” before effortlessly picking up a brush and showing us how to cut in walls with precision. It wasn’t until years later that I understood it wasn’t about the task—it was about being with us, teaching us, and passing down the skills he had honed over decades. Those early experiences were more than just work; they were lessons in integrity, patience, and the value of family.

As early as 4th grade I can remember my brother and I embarking on after school adventures with our father.  Whether we were heading to a plumbing job, responding to an emergency, or making a quick run to Home Depot, these trips were a regular part of our lives. Some homeowners would invite my brother and I to play with their children while our father worked. Mark and I were always on the same page and stuck by father’ side. During these times, I always felt I was exactly where I needed to be, and I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything

A Lifetime of Learning

Being surrounded by my family’s various trades and projects was a constant throughout my life. During college and afterward, I worked alongside my father, uncles, and other family members, gaining hands-on experience in everything from plumbing, full-scale renovations, and developments. These years of experience motivated me to obtain my unrestricted construction supervisor’s license, knowing one day I would be the one running the projects

In 2019, I took a leap and bought a run-down 1800s-era home in Boston that needed a complete renovation. Taking it on as my first project, I dove headfirst into every aspect—from planning to execution—with full responsibility on my shoulders. Transforming that home and eventually selling it wasn’t just a personal milestone—it was the spark that launched Carroll Projects. That experience helped me realize I could take on complex projects, approach them with care, and add real value to people’s homes.

Carroll Projects Today

And so, Carroll Projects was born—not just as a business, but as a promise to bring the same dedication, craftsmanship, and family values that my father, uncles, and grandfather instilled in me to every project we undertake. We’re not just here to build or fix; we’re here to restore trust, to ensure that every homeowner we work with feels secure in their choice to invite us into their home.

But more than that, Carroll Projects is about continuing a legacy. We want the next generation in our family to experience what this lifestyle has given us over the years—the satisfaction of a job well done, the pride in creating something lasting, and the joy of working together as a family.

Thank you for considering Carroll Projects.
